1. Where is KIS Astana located? 

KIS Astana located in the area of intersection of T. Ryskulova, A. Bokeihan & Hussein bin Talal streets, next to EXPO, in the cultural and business district of Astana.

2. What outdoor sports facilities does KIS Astana have? 

KIS has an artificial football pitch, multi use/ tennis court and a running track, as well as a fully-equipped outdoor playground for young children.

3. What indoor sports facilities does KIS Astana have?

KIS has a large, well-equipped sports hall which is suitable for a range of sports, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal and handball, among others. We also have two swimming pools, one for kindergarten and one for primary & secondary students, indoor training room, a dance/martial arts room, and a weights/fitness training room.

4. What is the ratio of foreign students to local students?

Our aim is for approximately 30% of expatriate and 70% Kazakhstani students. 

5. Where are your teachers from?

KIS plans to have native English speaking expatriate teachers - primarily from the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia  - who will work alongside local teachers. All of our academic staff will have a formal pedagogical qualification, including our team of Teaching Assistants. 

6. What programme does the school follow?  

KIS is proud to aim to be an all-through IB World School, following the framework of the International Baccalaureate and its three programmes for students aged 2-18: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). 7. From what age do you admit children?

Children from the ages of 2 to 6 can enroll in our Early Years Center. Beyond that, children attend the main school (Grades 1-4). We admit children to Grade 1 from 6 years of age.

Both the Early Years Center and the main school are on the same campus. 

8. Does your school provide a school bus service?

Yes, we have a school bus service, including our famous yellow KIS buses! Routes are designed to be as swift and efficient as possible for all passengers. Every bus has an experienced and careful driver, and a bus monitor on board to ensure the children are safe. 

9. Are meals and school transportation included in the tuition fees?

We provide these services on an optional basis. The cost of school meals and the school bus service are therefore paid separately. 

10. When can students enroll?

Most students can enroll at any time within an academic year.
