Elementary Programme
At KIS Astana, our elementary school students (Grades 1 through 5) benefit from a dynamic and engaging curriculum rooted in inquiry-based learning. Our goal during the elementary years is to nurture a lifelong love of learning and support each child’s academic growth according to their unique learning style.
Our commitment to a low teacher-to-student ratio—typically between 8 and 15 students per class—ensures highly personalized instruction. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore topics in depth, and develop confidence as independent learners. Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced in elementary education, and fluent in English (or meet equivalent standards), which is the language of instruction at KIS.
Throughout the school year, elementary students explore a variety of interdisciplinary units designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding across subjects. These include English language arts, reading, mathematics, Russian/Kazakh, physical education, music, art, and computer studies. Each week offers a balanced schedule filled with both academic and creative opportunities that support holistic development.
Our classrooms are equipped with Smartboards and advanced educational technology, creating true Smart Classrooms. Every student has access to a computer and receives guidance in using digital tools to support their learning.
At KIS, we strive to create an environment where students grow not only academically, but also as thoughtful, responsible, and globally aware individuals.
